As I grow old I slowly understand the reality of life I believe posting everything on social media is useless.
It’s been three years since I stopped this habit, and I feel more peaceful, more happy, and living a healthy life.
You won’t believe I used to post stories daily on what things were happening in my life. I still wonder, why I need to tell others that I am having a good life. Do I need to prove to them or show them?
Wasn’t that a sign that my life wasn’t good?
I soon realized that that wasn’t real me I was someone else.
When I was in high school there were my friends who used to share their life activities in different media and I was not.
When I used to Post On Social Media :
I was fake in reality and on social media.
I was a person want to show off things ( Wasn’t enjoying the moment )
Care all about likes and engagement on the post
Was an introvert, not wanting to talk to people, and used to live in the illusion that I was the one superior.
Never recognized my true self and wasn’t able to find what I needed to to because I used to be easily influenced by the internet
Soon the fear of missing out ( FOMO) Started to hit me because all my friends were on social media I asked myself Why Not me?
I start to follow them.
Social Media Kills Your Happiness
Take a look at restaurants, vacations, or any rare moments, most people would take photos first and then post them on social media.

We need attention and validation.
Why don't we Live in the current moment?
Is it necessary for us to share the place we visit? I am sure that most people do care about how many likes they get on social media posts rather than living in the present moment of the place.
We go to new places for only photos.
The more we do this, the more insecure we feel because comparison never ends.
There is a Great Quote:
Comparison is a Thief of Joy.
When you see someone on social media with better looks and better view you will feel insecure and that can be the reason for your sadness.
The reality is social media makes us feel uncomfortable because our subconscious feel that way.
If you have a great healthy family, you can get good quality food and have money to spend you should be grateful.
Many people don’t have any sort of money in their life but they are very happy and living their life.
People will try harder to impress others and even fake reality. To me, that’s disgusting now.
When you post your image on Social Media and see other people getting huge likes and have more attractive images than yours. you will feel insecure.
The reality is there will always be someone greater than you.
The Impact of Not Posting On Social Media

When you stop posting on Social media you start to realize that it’s all fake and there is much more to explore in life than showcasing in social media.
I am not saying not to post on media but what is your purpose? Are you on social media for likes?
If you get thousands of likes you will be happy and if you don’t then you will be sad.
Don't depend your level of happiness on the likes you get on social media because that's what ruins your life.
Life is precious and your life is not made to impress someone else.
The day when you stop posting on Social media remember your level of happiness will automatically rise, you can think way more because you have separated the comparison part of your life.
When you are not on Social Media:
You won’t compare yourself with other people
You can reflect back on yourself.
You start to give more importance to little things in life ( you will be more grateful )
You will feel more responsible, and curious and feel good about life
If someone likes you just because you are great on social media and you get many likes on social media then you are with the wrong person in life.
We don’t need to prove our happiness; just enjoy it for ourselves.
